Prior to the Detroit Lions' Week 4 win on Monday night, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Tyrel Dodson was charged with firing his team up before it took the field, and in the process, he made a statement that he quickly had to eat.

During his pregame speech to the team, Dodson tried to shoot down the idea that the Lions are tough, saying, "These motherf-----s ain't tough," according to a clip shared by ESPN on Twitter.

But the Seahawks quickly found out how tough the Lions are in what was an offensive explosion by Detroit the likes of which we haven't seen this season.

And, part of that offensive explosion saw running back David Montgomery show just how tough his team is after he took a short pass 40 yards that also saw him break several tackles along the way.

After the game, the Lions social media team caught wind of Dodson's trash talk and clapped back at him.

The Lions' motto isn't "Grit" for nothing. This is a tough team that is led by the definition of a tough dude in head coach Dan Campbell.

Ultimately, the Lions ended up scoring 42 points in what was their best offensive showing of the 2024 campaign. And, it came against a Seattle defense that had surrendered just 43 points combined over its first three contests.

Making the win more sweet was the fact that the Seahawks came into the game having beaten Detroit in each of the last six meetings between the two teams.

The Lions will have an extra week to rest up and bask in the glory of this impressive home win over the Seahawks, as they get their bye in Week 5.

After that, the Lions will return to action in Week 6 when they travel to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys.
