Multiple fights break out at Lions-Giants first joint practice on Monday image

The New York Giants and Detroit Lions are taking part in their first of two joint practices on Monday morning and we already have our first few fights.

According to Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News, the beef started when Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was jawing at a Giants defender after one play. On the next one, St. Brown caught a pass with Giants cornerback Dane Belton in coverage, which led to the Lions wide receiver shoving Belton in the face.

"Only took four plays to get a fight between the Lions O and Giants D," Bianchi wrote. "St. Brown appeared to be jawing with a Giants defender after an incompletion.

"Caught a ball on Dane Belton the next play and ARSB gave him the how-do-ya-do with a shove to the face…benches cleared."

Thankfully, someone captured the fight on video, although as you can see, it's on the more tame side of the training camp fight spectrum. Check it out below.

And here's another angle of the skirmish.

Not long after that, a Lions defensive lineman and Giants guard Greg Van Roten got into a scrap. Here's video of that.

As of this writing, a total of eight fights have broken out on Day 1, per Kyle Meinke of MLive.com.

Bear in mind, these two teams have yet another joint practice on Tuesday. The Lions and Giants will be hard-pressed to have as physical a session as they've had Monday, though.
