One of the underrated aspects of a team's schedule is how much traveling it will have to do in a season, as that can create extra wear and tear on the players. Knowing that, how many miles will the Detroit Lions travel in 2024?

According to the Bill Speros of Bookies.com, the Lions will travel a grand total of 14,328 miles and cross 22 time zones in the process. The mileage total is the ninth-fewest in the NFL, though.

Of teams in the NFC, only three (Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints) will travel less than the Lions. Detroit will also have the fewest amount of miles traveled among all NFC North teams.

As compared to last year, the Lions are traveling more, but not by much. In 2023, Detroit traveled a total of 13,923 miles, a difference of 405 miles.

As we await the official release of the Lions' 2024 schedule, a reminder of who they are facing:

Home opponents: Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Away opponents: Packers, Vikings, Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys.
