The Detroit Lions have handed out some massive contract extensions this offseason in order to ensure that some of their franchise cornerstones don't hit the open market in 2025, with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Penei Sewell both getting the deals they deserve.
St. Brown signed a four-year deal worth $120.01 million, and Sewell inked a four-year, $112 million deal. Both contracts put Sewell and St. Brown at the top of their respective positions in terms of highest-paid, although St. Brown no longer holds that distinction with annual average after the Philadelphia Eagles gave A.J. Brown more money.
Who could be next for an extension? We surmised four players who fit the bill, all of whom will be free agents next year. The list included quarterback Jared Goff, left tackle Taylor Decker, cornerback Carlton Davis and defensive lineman Alim McNeill.
But until those players are extended, they headline the list of 38 Lions who are slated to hit free agency in 2025. Not included in the list, which comes from Over The Cap, are Detroit's reported undrafted free-agent signings.
