The Detroit Lions were the epitome of aggressive during the 2024 NFL Draft, with the team trading up a whopping four times during the three-day event to get the players they wanted.

One of those trade ups happened in the first round, when Lions general manager Brad Holmes struck a deal with the Dallas Cowboys to move up from No. 29 to No. 24 to draft cornerback Terrion Arnold.

But, according to a documentary called "Cardinals Flight Plan" that chronicles the Arizona Cardinals' 2024 NFL Draft, the team was also in the running for that pick. Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort offered the Cowboys pick Nos. 27 and 104 (fourth round) in exchange for pick Nos. 24 and 174 (fifth round).

Ultimately, that wasn't enough to get it done, as the Lions offered their No. 29 and 73 (third round) selections, and the Cowboys only had to give up a seventh in the deal on top of pick No. 24.

You can check out Ossenfort's offer to the Cowboys at the five-minute mark in the video below.

The Cardinals were targeting Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson, and luckily for them they were still able to nab him with the 27th pick.

The Lions clearly paid a significantly higher price than what the Cardinals were offering, but it's understandable why they did it given the need for a cornerback and the potential Arnold has. We'll see if it pays off in the long run. So far, the Alabama product has been as advertised in practice.
