The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the best players in the league at a particular position and it is often scoffed at and easily overlooked. But fans of the Chargers know what the team has been through at the kicker position and that is why Cameron Dicker has been such a breath of fresh air.

It is ironic to say that the Chargers have one of the best kickers in the league, but Dicker is absolutely that.

The Chargers are the fourth NFL team for Dicker who played collegiately at Texas, growing up with a dream of being a professional soccer player. After being unable to fit in with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, or Philadelphia Eagles, he was likely looking for a way to get back into that spot.

But in November 2022 he was signed by the Chargers and placed on the practice squad and ever since, he has grown into one of the league's most reliable kickers.

Cameron Dicker is nearly automatic for Chargers

Nicknamed "Dicker the Kicker", Dicker is the first player in NFL history born in Hong Kong. Last season, he missed just one of his 20 field-goal attempts and successfully converted all his PAT kicks. He now enters this training camp with no one looking over his shoulder.

The Chargers have had some bad fortune when it comes to kickers, bringing several in for short stints before they found Dicker. But after replacing an injured Dustin Hopkins, Dicker is quietly becoming one of the best overall players on the entire team.

Finally, the Chargers don't have to worry about who their kicker is and how long he is going to hold onto the position. At just 24 years old, Dicker should be the answer to that question for some time to come.
