In order to move up 19 slots in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, the Denver Broncos had to part with later draft picks, but that was a move that Sean Payton saw as worth it in his effort to acquire Troy Franklin

In order to do that, the Broncos had to turn to the Seattle Seahawks, the team that traded them Russell Wilson two years ago. In the deal, the Seahawks acquired an additional pick to add to their stable.

The Broncos will now not be on the clock until pick No. 145, barring any future trades. The team stood pat in the first three rounds, letting the board fall to them rather than trading back and acquiring more draft capital despite many fans feeling that was the route to take. Instead, the front office has used its first three picks on three players that it clearly had plans to get.

Bo Nix was the quarterback that Payton had his sights set on. When he was in New Orleans, he drafted Kaden Elliss, which was absolutely a factor in him drafting Jonah Elliss in the third round. Now, he adds to Nix's happiness by bringing in his No.1 target from Oregon.
