Denver Broncos Week 1 inactives: Troy Franklin won't play, Jarrett Stidham will be No. 2 QB image

The Denver Broncos have released their inactive players for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season where they will be on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The following players will not play in Sunday's game:

Kris Abrams-Draine, CB

Frank Crum, OT

Troy Franklin, WR

Lucas Krull, TE

Eyioma Uwazurike, DT

Blake Watson, RB

Zach Wilson, QB

Four of these players are rookies and the Broncos have enough depth at the other positions. This also confirms that Jarrett Stidham will be the team's backup quarterback for Bo Nix, but the Broncos could receive a call from the Green Bay Packers this coming week about one of their QBs.

Troy Franklin a healthy scratch for Week 1

Though it's not surprising based on the quiet summer that fourth-round pick Troy Franklin had, it is discouraging. Seventh-round pick Devaughn Vele will suit up and play in this game and be one of the team's four wide receivers.

The Broncos will have to hope that Franklin gets up to speed or this could be a lost season for the rookie.

With Lucas Krull being made inactive, it means the team will use fullback/tight end Nate Adkins in a more prominent role. Adam Trautman and Greg Dulcich will be the other two tight ends.
