Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams has been the subject of plenty of questions this offseason with some going as far as to say he might be fighting for a roster spot. Perhaps Williams heard some of the chatter.
The Broncos had some huge bright spots on the opening day of training camp, including that Greg Dulcich was available and looking good. Williams not only looked good but he was also slimmed down.
Williams is coming off a rough season in which he appeared to be struggling to fully recover from the major knee injury he suffered the season before. It appears that he feels a leaner body will lead him back to the player he used to be.
Javonte Williams looks great on day one of training camp
Williams has always run with a tough, punishing style behind his 220-pound frame. It seems he is aiming for a lower playing weight this season.

Williams is ready to continue his run as the team's No. 1 running back and several team insiders noted how good he looked on day one, taking all of the first team reps.
Javonte Williams looked VERY GOOD today.

He's slimmed down from mandatory minicamp.
Had more burst today at #BroncosCamp than he did in the spring. @DenSports1043
If earlier predictions regarding one of the team's veteran running backs having to fight for a roster spot end up being true, it seems that Samaje Perine has a much tougher hill to climb at this moment than Williams does.
