Many Denver Broncos fans have wondered about names that are not part of the team's Ring of Fame for decades. On Thursday, it was reported that two of those names will finally be added to the legendary class.

Steve Foley and Riley Odoms will take their place on the Ring of Fame thanks to a new committee led by owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner who have reached back to the past to honor two great former Broncos.

Riley Odoms was the No. 5 overall pick in the 1972 NFL Draft and he spent his entire 12-year career in Denver. He finished that career with 396 receptions for 5,755 yards and 44 touchdowns.

He is the second-best tight end in team history, behind only the great Shannon Sharpe.

Odoms spoke with Broncos Insider Mike Klis of 9News and had this to say:

“It’s been a lot of years but all highways are not straight. But we got there and I’m excited about it.”

Steve Foley also spent his entire career in Denver, playing safety for the team for 11 seasons. The Broncos have a long history of great safeties from Steve Atwater to Dennis Smith to Justin Simmons but Foley is often overlooked. However, it is Foley who is the team's all-time leader in career interceptions with 44.

Foley also spoke to Klis:

“It’s just surreal. Greg Penner called me about 9 and let me know. I actually thought he was calling about something to do with Randy (Gradishar) in Canton. I’m floored. I’m humbled, I’m honored, I’m floored.”

Adding Odoms and Foley puts the number of the names on the Ring of Fame at 37. The Broncos plan to hold Orange Crush Weekend during the Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. There, Odoms and Foley will be honored along with the entire 1977 team that went to the Super Bowl.

This is an excellent move by the new ownership group.
