4 biggest questions for Denver Broncos rookies ahead of training camp image

The Denver Broncos will open training camp ahead of the 2024 NFL season with their 90-man roster on July 23. But first, the team's rookies will report nearly one full week before that on Wednesday.

The Broncos will be a very new-look team in 2024 and many of the questions, as they have for nearly a decade, will center around the quarterback position. With the starting quarterback potentially being a rookie, those questions will multiply.

So while there could be a ton of questions focused on only Bo Nix, there will be a focus on the entire rookie class and some of the big questions they will face.

Biggest questions for Denver Broncos rookies ahead of training camp

Can Jonah Elliss become the dominant pass-rusher that the team needs?

The Broncos have a lot of guys who can get after the quarterback, but none that consistently strike fear in that area. Jonah Elliss was taken in the third round of the draft to at least make the unit more dynamic, but can get become a double-digit sack guy?

How will the rookie running backs impact the roster?

One of the more interesting position battles in training camp is going to be at the running back position. The team was led by Javonte Williams and Samaje Perine last season but with confidence in Williams fading, could the team turn to fifth-round pick Audric Estime and undrafted signing Blake Watson to spark the ground game as rookies?

Which undrafted free agent will make the 53-man roster?

It seems to happen every year, at least one undrafted rookie makes the team. This year, Watson has a good chance to do just that but look for offensive tackle Frank Crum, safety Omar Brown, and linebacker Levelle Bailey to make a run at it.

When will Bo Nix become the starter?

There has to be at least one question about Nix and this is the most obvious one.

Many expect Nix to be the starting quarterback when the team opens the season, which would mark the first time that has happened since John Elway in 1983. But many other questions have to be answered first. The Broncos won't want to stunt the growth of the new face of the franchise, so this will be something that likely takes the entire summer to decide.
