The Dallas Cowboys don't have a definitive long-term quarterback on their roster at the time of writing. Dak Prescott still hasn't come to an agreement on an extension, and it looks as if he simply won't come to terms on a new deal and Prescott will play out this season and hit the open market in March.
What this means is that Dallas has to seriously look at potential replacements for their star quarterback who just led the NFL in touchdown passes a season ago, and that replacement may come from the son of a Cowboys legend.
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a tremendous opening night, leading the Buffaloes to a 31-26 win over North Dakota State. The son of Deion Sanders went 26-of-34 for 445 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.
Sanders is projected to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. And while Dallas may be too good to get him in the top 10, they could orchestrate a trade to move up and get the Colorado quarterback. However it could happen, don't put it past Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to do whatever they can to make it happen. A flashy move like that is right up the Cowboys' alleyway.
