The Dallas Cowboys have long been considered America’s team. When they asked why the roof would open upon Cowboys Stadium, they responded “So God could watch his team.” There is nothing lowkey about the Dallas Cowboys.
Defensive star Micah Parsons was asked about the scrutiny he gets and whether it is heightened because the team has not had success during his tenure. He gave a very telling and honest answer.
“You’d have to be blind to say that you don’t have expectations wearing a star, that’s why I say there’s a delusion factor. They say it’s okay not to win or act like those losses don’t hurt or don’t matter. That’s delusional to me. Because it’s earned.”
It is rare that we get honest answers from professional athletes in any sport, which makes this refreshing. It is also music to your ears if you are a Cowboys fan.
You know that Parsons is going to be an all-time Cowboy, barring anything serious developing. Thinking like this allows that to happen. Every team and fanbase wants their players to think this way, whether it is a star on their helmet or a Jaguar.
The Cowboys are lucky to have him.
