As the Dallas Cowboys enter a 2024-2025 season that is one of the most pivotal in franchise history, the last thing the team needs is one of their stars not on the field to start the season. According to Calvin Watkins of Dallas News, that could very well be a possibility if they do not pay a massive sum of money to their franchise wide receiver.

Watkins goes onto to clarify that the Dallas front office will prioritize Lamb's contract, but that is not necessarily a guarantee things will go over smoothly. Lamb is going to look for a Justin Jefferson kind of pay day in the realm of $30 million per season, which is quarterback money. Dallas has some serious decisions to make between paying Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and Lamb, there just is not enough money to go around.
If Dallas does get the extension for Lamb done before the season, one has to assume this is going to be a full send season for the team, as it just about guarantees the team will lose one of their two best players outside of Lamb. Not an easy situation to be in if you are Dallas, but at the end of the day it's a good problem to have when you have too many stars to pay. We will see where this potential holdout ends up, and if Lamb will be ready to go for week one or not.
