The Dallas Cowboys activated their All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs off the PUP list on Tuesday. Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement to the media during one of their sessions.
McCarthy cited the move being a step in the right direction for Diggs as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered last season. The move will allow the Cowboys to handle his rehab “smartly” according to their head coach.
McCarthy also added that what the team missed most on the field from Diggs during his absence was “ he's such a playmaker. Obviously his ability to go get the football, get his hands on a football, challenge the receiver, the matchups, all that.”
Diggs being back gives the Cowboys an excellent one-two punch at corner with the emergence of Daron Bland last season. A healthy Diggs return allows the Cowboys to compete for the NFC East title and more during the 2024 season.
