The tire fire known as the Dallas Cowboys' 2024 offseason reached its peak on Thursday evening just ahead of the Cowboys' beginning preseason play.
Owner Jerry Jones was asked about contract talks with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, to which he replied "I don't have any urgency to get it done."
This led to Lamb replying to the comments on X by simply posting "lol."

Dak Prescott, though, took exception to Jones' comments and backed his receiver to close out his press conference.
"I know y'all want to ask [about Jones' comments]," Prescott said. "I got urgency for it to happen."
Prescott also noted that when Lamb returns to the team, it will only one "one or two practices" for the two of them to be back in full swing.

This saga doesn't seem to have an end in sight, meaning it's very likely the Cowboys will play the entire season with this cloud of Prescott and Lamb not being under contract in 2025 hanging over them.
