Could the Dallas Cowboys have the best cornerback duo in the NFL?

Could the Dallas Cowboys have the best cornerback duo in the NFL? image

The Dallas Cowboys defense was one of the bright spots of the team over the last two seasons with the emergence of their superstar Michah Parsons and a dominant defensive line. One of the more undersung parts of the defense however, is the teams dynamic duos at the cornerback position with Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland.

Now that Diggs is back from a 10 month injury hiatus, this duo of him and Bland is going to operate at full steam.  Bland had one heck of a breakout year during the 2024 season, leading the league with a eye popping nine interceptions on the year. Bland's breakout was a key reason for the success in the backend of the Dallas defense. Now that a fully healthy Diggs, who himself had an eleven interception year just three seasons ago, will be partnering with Bland who is entering his prime, we could be looking at the best duo in the league.

The last time we saw a full season out of Diggs he posted his best season yet. Yes, even better than the eleven interception season, as he was a far more well rounded corner who was absolutely dominant in coverage and dared quarterbacks to throw his way. Combined with the level of play that Bland has shown last season, it will be a major risk to try and attack Dallas through the air at any point of the game.

Dallas is set up to have one of the best if not the best defensive units in the entire league. With their top tier pass rushing duo, top tier corner duo, and plenty of young talent littered across their depth chart, we could see a dominant year for the Cowboys.
