Report: Two Browns DEs injured, leave practice minutes apart image

The Cleveland Browns reportedly had two defensive ends go down in Monday's practice within minutes of each other.

Noah Weiskopf said that Sam Kamara left practice minutes before Za'Darius Smith was carted off the field "holding his left side" and in obvious pain.

26-year-old Kamara is entering his third season with the Browns and fourth in the NFL.  He has looked good in camp. Mary Kay Cabot reported that Kamara walked off the field with trainers after a goal-line drill.

31-year-old Za'Darius Smith rode in the front seat of the cart.  He is entering his 10th NFL season and second with the Browns.  Despite the media being present at practice, no one saw exactly what happened that could have caused the injury.

The video of the play when Smith was injured does not shed light on what happened either.

Kamara and Smith are two of the four left defensive ends on the Browns' depth chart.  The other two are Alex Wright and Jeremiah Martin.  The Browns also have four right defensive ends on the roster including Myles Garrett, Ogbo Okoronkwo, Isaiah McGuire, and Isaiah Thomas.

The Browns have their first preseason game on Saturday, August 10 at Cleveland Browns Stadium against the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff is at 4:25 PM ET.
