Ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco is at it again. On Sunday, he came off the bench for the Indianapolis Colts in relief of Anthony Richardson to deal the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers their first loss.

Flacco shines in AFC North battles as proven by his long career with the Ravens, last season with the Browns, and yesterday's win over the Steelers.

He has now performed well for the trifecta of teams related to Baltimore: the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns who lost their team to the Ravens in the late 1990s, and the Indianapolis Colts who left Baltimore in an overnight escape in the 1980s to set up shop in Indianapolis.
He will turn 40 in January, and many were surprised after being named NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2023 that the Browns did not re-sign him.

Courtesy of Mike Florio at ProFootball Talk, we now know that the Browns did not have any discussions with Flacco in the offseason to bring him back to the Browns for 2024. Instead, they went with Jameis Winston. Flacco's and Winston's contracts with incentives are valued at $8.7 million so there was not a substantial salary difference between the two.
