In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin talked about his former quarterback teammates.  When Jameis Winston's name came up, Godwin called him a "unique individual."

Godwin explained that Winston, 30, could crack a joke in the huddle to combat tension and had an innate ability to forget a previous play if it went poorly.

Winston started his career in Tampa Bay as the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He played five seasons for the Bucs, making the Pro Bowl in 2015 and becoming the NFL passing yards leader in 2019, before moving on to New Orleans for the past four seasons.

The Browns needed all of their backup quarterbacks and then some in 2023.  While no one hopes that scenario plays out again in 2024, Winston is a capable backup who seems to be enjoying his role in Cleveland particularly with his daily races with Browns consultant Mike Vrabel.  Winston is under contract for $4 million for the 2024 season so it remains to be seen if he will be in Cleveland next season.
