Tom Brady will kick off his broadcast career with a Cowboys game.

Dallas will play the Browns in Cleveland for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, Fox Sports announced Monday. The two sides will square off on Sept. 8 at 4:25 p.m. This will also be Tom Brady's debut with the network after he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal following his retirement in 2023. Brady opted not to join the booth this past season but will be a color analyst for Fox this season.

The full NFL schedule will be released on May 15. However, we already know the Chiefs will host the Ravens in the NFL season opener on Sept. 5.

This is a huge deal for Brady, the league, the Cowboys and the Browns. All four have a lot on the line in this game.

For Brady, it'll be his first post-career foray. He's dabbled in television in the past —most recently with the Netflix roast — but has yet to step into a broadcast booth since he left the NFL in 2023.

For the league, Brady could be the most recognizable former player to ever be a broadcaster. He has the most Super Bowls for any one player in NFL history and ushered in the Patriots' 20-year dynasty. This is a major milestone for him and the league.

Oh yeah, the game: The Cowboys face an identity crisis after continued playoff defeats while the Browns hope to recapture a spark this season they had in 2023, just with Deshaun Watson back under center instead of Joe Flacco.

Dallas will have Dak Prescott again under center, but there has been almost no endorsement that he'll return to the Cowboys when his contract is up at the end of the season. Dallas crumbled at the end of the 2023 season with a shocking first-round playoff exit against the young Packers. Owner Jerry Jones didn't do much this offseason to fix the issues. But at least Ezekiel Elliot is back.

Cleveland gets Watson back after two injury- and suspension-riddled seasons. Nick Chubb is a major question mark after the running back's terrible knee injury. The Browns traded for Jerry Jeudy this offseason to pair him with Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore. Cleveland's AFC North path is tough with the Bengals, Ravens and Steelers all vying for playoff spots.

Brady will be the draw for this one, though. How he fares in his debut could be the starting point for a long career in television for the former NFL quarterback.
