The Cleveland Browns replaced longtime offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt with Ken Dorsey in the offseason. Dorsey was formerly with the Buffalo Bills. He was fired last November after the Bills got off to a disappointing 5-5 start. Some say the Bills wanted to run the ball more, and Dorsey's offense was not set up for that.
Fast forward to Week 4 of the 2024 season, and the Bills are winning. And the Browns' offense under Dorsey is sputtering and spiraling downward. Obviously, not having Nick Chubb is a major issue for the team. However, they passed up the opportunity to sign Kareem Hunt so they apparently were satisfied with the running back roster while Chubb was on PUP.
Some wonder if the Browns will fire Dorsey mid-season if the offensive struggles continue. The Browns tend to let coordinators overstay their welcome with former defensive coordinator Joe Woods as a classic example. It seems unlikely the Browns would fire Dorsey mid-season since he did not have Chubb. Fans argue that it could and possibly should be done anyway, and Stefanski (the former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator) could assume offensive coordinator duties on an interim basis.
