Browns add fan-favorite surprise guest to 2024 Legends class with Phil Dawson image

The Cleveland Browns announced a surprise addition to the 2024 Legends class.  Phil Dawson, the franchise's greatest kicker, was set to be inducted alone as a Browns Legend during the Week 3 home game against the New York Giants.

However, on Thursday morning, the Browns added the legendary voice of the Browns Jim Donovan to the class.  Dawson called Donovan to let him know.  It will be an emotional event for everyone involved.  Dawson's induction is considered long overdue, and Donovan is beloved by Browns' fans near and far.

Donovan had been with Browns radio since the team came back into the NFL in 1999.  Donovan had been the lone consistent piece of the organization during many tumultuous years involving changes in ownership, coaching staff, and rosters. Before the 2024 season, he retired to focus his energies on his ongoing battle with cancer.  Fans will be thrilled to see him at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday.

Hopefully, Donovan will make a cameo appearance in the press box to join Andrew Siciliano and Nathan Zegura. 

The 0-2 Giants take on the 1-1 Cleveland Browns at 1 PM ET on September 22 at Huntington Bank Field.
