The Cincinnati Bengals offensive line took a major hit Monday night as right tackle Trent Brown was carted off with an injury.
During the second quarter as the Bengals were driving down the field against the Washington Commanders, Brown crumbled to the ground in a pass protection set that eventually led to a sack on Joe Burrow.
Brown immediately started grabbing his knee in pain and eventually had to be carted off the field.
The Bengals signed Brown this offseason in hopes of beefing up the offensive line after he spent the last three seasons with the New England Patriots.
Brown signed a one-year deal worth $4.75 million this offseason and had been the starting right tackle for the first three games of the season.
Trent Brown injury update
The veteran right tackle was officially diagnosed with a knee injury by the team and was almost immediately ruled out just minutes after he left the field.
With Brown out, the Bengals will turn to first-round pick Amarius Mims, a mammoth right tackle out of Georgia who dealt with injuries of his own during college.
Mims also missed the first two games of the regular season after suffering a pectoral injury during the preseason.
