The Cincinnati Bengals have been without the services of wide receiver Tee Higgins to begin the 2024 season.
Starting the campaign 0-2 is never ideal considering the implications for a playoff run, but it's not impossible for the Bengals to bounce back into the playoff picture.
Ahead of the disastrous Week 1 loss against the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium, Higgins was added to the injury report with a hamstring injury following Thursday's practice.
After not practicing Friday in Week 1, Higgins was listed as doubtful and was eventually inactive for the game.
For the Week 2 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the 25-year-old wideout didn't practice at all. However, he did go through his normal pre-game workout routine, which was an encouraging step.
The former second-round pick has dealt with injuries throughout his career with the Bengals and the 2023 season was the first time he missed a significant portion of games — three of which came due to a hamstring injury.
Ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Washington Commanders, we're tracking the latest updates regarding Higgins' injury status.
Tee Higgins injury update
Coach Zac Taylor said Saturday that Higgins is "good to go" to make his season debut on Monday against the Commanders.
For the first practice of the week, Higgins was on the field for the first time since initially injuring his hamstring during practice in Week 1.
Thursday's practice report will give us a better picture of his status going into the weekend.
Having the extra day of rest should help Higgins as long as he doesn't suffer a setback. It's likely he'll need to log at least one full practice before returning to the field.
The Bengals offense bounced back nicely in Week 2, but having Higgins on the field makes a major difference for Joe Burrow and the passing attack.
