Cincinnati Bengals superstar Ja'Marr Chase isn't lacking any confidence — and for good reason.

In the middle of a contract dispute in hopes of becoming the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL, Chase would have to surpass friend and former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson.

When asked about the rumors that Chase wants to beat Jefferson's contract by a penny, the former dropped an iconic quote.

"If I want to beat Justin Jefferson, I’m going to beat the s--t out of Justin. Not by a penny, brother," Chase told reporters Friday.

Jefferson signed his massive contract this offseason, getting a four-year, $140 million deal with $88.7 million guaranteed. The deal made Jefferson the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history and currently the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

With Jefferson getting $35 million per year in average annual value, that paces the wide receiver position.

Chase also told reporters that he feels the two sides are close to a contract extension and that he'd be willing to play without a new deal if an agreement isn't reached by Friday — his self-imposed deadline.

Chase called himself a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots and admitted he would probably be limited if he did suit up.
