The Chicago Bears came from behind and beat the Tennessee Titans 24-17 to start the season 1-0. It was a full team effort after the Bears had two non-offensive touchdowns, one from a blocked punt and another from a pick-six.

Despite the win, all eyes were on Caleb Williams and his debut in the NFL, and he was underwhelming.

Caleb Williams had one of the most hyped-up debuts ever for a rookie quarterback and he did not do much of anything to impress. He finished with a final stat line of 14/29 (48.3%) for 93 passing yards. He had zero touchdowns, but also zero turnovers. The biggest positive is that he didn;t make any critical mistakes that could have cost the game for the Bears, but there is a lot to work on with a performance like this.

It looked like the speed of the game at the professional level shocked him a little bit and that he was not ready for it overall. The Bears revamped their receiving corps in the offseason too and each of them had a quiet afternoon.

DJ Moore led the way with five receptions for 36 yards, while Keenan Allen was just behind him with four receptions for 29 yards. First-round pick Rome Odunze only had one reception for 11 yards, adding to the offensive disappointment.

The Bears have a lot to work on when it comes to their passing game and their offense as a whole. Their struggles through the air overshadowed the fact that D’Andre Swift only had 10 carries for 30 rushing yards.

Caleb Williams needs to figure things out sooner rather than later because in Week 2 they visit Houston and play the Texans for a Sunday Night Football showdown.
