The 2024 National Football League season now is three weeks in.
Each NFL franchise has played three games, and we're starting to get a better look at each team. There have been a few teams that have surprised and some that have played just as many expected them. The Chicago Bears aren't the spot they hoped to be through three games. Chicago currently has a 1-2 record and is in last place in the NFC North.
Chicago has shown some upside, but things haven't worked out fully for it yet. The Bears have plenty of potential this season but need to get back in the win column.
With each passing week, Bleacher Report's scouting department puts together a list of each team's biggest weaknesses and ways to fix them. Although the Bears aren't where they want to be, there have been some bright spots, including defensive end Darrell Taylor. He has two sacks already this season but will be a free agent at the end of the season, and Bleacher Report predicted that he will sign with the Atlanta Falcons.
"2025 Free Agency: EDGE Darrell Taylor, Chicago Bears," Bleacher Report said. "Atlanta has four impending free agents at edge defender this offseason, including Matthew Judon and Lorenzo Carter. Even with Bralen Trice returning from injury, that will make the position a need for the club in the spring.
"Taylor would be a good target since he's been a productive pass-rusher throughout his career with 23.5 sacks in four years, including two through the first couple of weeks this season. Granted, he's never been much of a run defender, but that should help keep his price tag down, which is good for an organization that is currently projected to have just under $12 million of cap space available, per Over The Cap."
