It sounds like one former member of the Chicago Bears is looking for a new opportunity and is attempting to get back to the National Football League.
Former Bears defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad spent the 2022 season in Chicago but didn't appear in a game last year. He was released by the Bears at the end of the 2022 season and signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Muhammad was released before the 2023 season began and signed to the practice squad and then was suspended.
Muhammad now is looking for a new opportunity and reportedly has a workout with the Dallas Cowboys, according to Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams.
"Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams tore the anterior cruciate and the medial collateral ligaments in his left knee during Sunday’s practice. He will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the damage," Williams said. "That leaves a void for the team behind DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons. Not surprisingly, the Cowboys will workout some pass rushers Thursday, including veteran Carl Lawson, Todd Archer of ESPN reports.
"He played only six games last season for the Jets, making five tackles with no sacks and no quarterback hits. But Lawson had 27 sacks in the previous five seasons. Update10:30 P.M. ET: Nick Eatman of the team website reports that Shaka Toney, Al-Quadin Muhammad, and Justin Hollins are the other pass rushers the Cowboys will workout."
Muhammad is a six-year NFL veteran and likely will find an opportunity before the season.
