The Chicago Bears will have to make some tough decisions in the very near future.
Chicago has a chance to be significantly better in 2024 than it was in 2023. While this is the case, the Bears will have to trim down the roster ahead of the 2024 campaign. Every team will have to do this and it will lead to some difficult decisions.
One player who was called the Bears' top cut candidate is defensive end Dominique Robinson by Pro Football Network's Dakota Randall.
"Chicago Bears | DE Dominique Robinson," Randall said. "Dominique Robinson saw his playing dip from 50% as a rookie to just 35 percent in 2023. He’ll enter camp competing with Montez Sweat and Austin Booker for a role on the edge, setting the stage for his potential release."
Robinson was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 National Football League Draft and has appeared in 28 games with the team over the last two seasons. He has tallied just two sacks over that stretch and 42 total tackles.
It wouldn't be too shocking to see him get cut by the Bears as there may not be a major role for him on the team, but he is just 26 years old. Chicago is on the upswing and it will be tough to trim down the roster. Robinson's numbers may not jump off the page, but he still is young. We should find out more soon.
