The Chicago Bears aren't slowing down any time soon.
Chicago had an extremely busy offseason looking for ways to improve the roster. The Bears are an exciting team to watch heading into the 2024 National Football League campaign and could even end up being a playoff team.
The Bears have a lot of solid pieces but continued to add depth on Saturday as they reportedly landed defensive tackle Chris Williams in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, according to Brad Biggs.
"Bears have traded a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Browns for DT Chris Williams and a 2025 seventh-round pick," Biggs said. "The team had 3 sixth-rounders at the start of yesterday - their own, one from Miami, and a conditional from Pittsburgh. They're now down to one, presumably the conditional from PIT."
Williams signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He appeared in 13 games over two seasons with the Colts and had six total tackles. He spent some time on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad in 2023.
He also spent some time on the Cleveland Browns' practice squad in 2023 but he didn't appear in a game. He signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland ahead of the 2024 season but won't appear in a game with it as he was traded to Chicago.
Hopefully, he is able to get a shot with the Bears over the next few weeks and see some game action this season in Chicago.
