The Chicago Bears haven't been at full strength, but it sounds like they could get an important piece back this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams.
Chicago will look to get back in the win column against the Rams on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET and could even have star receiver Keenan Allen back on the field, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"Injury updates: Bears (wide receiver) Keenan Allen (heel) practiced fully and is trending towards a return (listed as questionable)," Rapoport said. "(wide receiver) Rome Odunze (hip) was a full participant and is good to go. (New Orleans Saints) (linebacker) Demario Davis (hamstring) and (offensive lineman) Cesar Ruiz (knee) are both out."
If Allen actually can return to the field against the Rams, that certainly will give young quarterback Caleb Williams another dependable playmaker. Allen is one of the best receivers in football when he is healthy, but he has been dealing with a painful heel injury.
Chicago has had a tough go lately and certainly needs all of the options it can get to get the offense going. The Bears have a chance to get back in the win column this week, and it will be important that Allen returns to the field. He has been able to appear in just one game this season, in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. In that game, Allen had four receptions for 29 yards. Williams has started to look better lately, and bringing Allen back into the fold certainly will help.
