If you are a Chicago Bears fan, you should be excited with training camp about to kick off.

Chicago took a step forward in 2023 and is poised to take an even bigger step forward in 2024. Some even have speculated that the Bears could even end up fighting for a playoff spot.

Most of the headlines this offseason have been in response to the Bears' new-look offense. Chicago has done a great job by bringing in phenom Caleb Williams and giving him plenty of veteran weapons by adding Keenan Allen and D'Andre Swift.

While the offense has gotten most of the attention, there are some intriguing pieces to be excited about on the defensive side of the football as well.

Bears Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson even was voted the No. 8 cornerback in football, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Johnson is just 25 years old and earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2023. He appeared in 14 games last season and had four interceptions, 10 passes defended, and 36 total tackles. He also earned his first All-Pro nod as well.

Chicago certainly has a bright future and it seems as though it will have one of its defensive stars of the future in Johnson.
