The Chicago Bears won't have to worry about their rookie quarterback thinking he knows it all.
No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams realizes that he has a lot to learn, and he's seeking out the best in the business to learn from.
Courtney Cronin of ESPN reported on Friday that Williams has developed a relationship with GOAT quarterback Tom Brady, whom Williams began talking to this past spring.
"In May, Williams was one of a handful of rookies to meet with future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady over breakfast during an event in Los Angeles," Cronin said.
"The opportunity to break bread and informally talk shop with Brady turned into Williams circling back with the seven-time Super Bowl winner to learn how to build championship habits."
"(Brady) kept harping on competitive stamina," Williams said, per Cronin. "He kept harping on being around your guys, understanding them, that relationship. And then, I mean, it's hard. The job is hard. That's what he said."
Williams has apparently already applied some of Brady's tips into his regimen.
"Williams has adopted several of Brady's processes," Cronin said. "He started doing Brady's TB12 diet before training camp."
Bears rookie wide receiver John Jackson III -- Williams's roommate during training camp -- has also noticed Williams's conversations with Brady.
"I know he's been ... talking to Tom Brady a lot," Jackson III said, per Cronin. "[He's talking to] different people to get different perspectives, and understanding that we don't have all the answers as much as you want to say you know a lot."
Williams will also benefit from picking the brains of experienced QBs inside the Bears locker room, with reports surfacing that Chicago likes having veteran quarterback Brett Rypien around to mentor Williams.
Will Williams be able to apply some of his new wisdom on the field come September? We'll find out soon enough, but patience and controlled expectations will be important as Bears Nation begins to witness his development.
