Are the Chicago Bears going to fire their offensive coordinator soon?
Chicago's offense has been a massive disappointment so far this season, and Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts featured some suspect play calling.
This was supposed to be the season that the Bears' offense turned over a new leaf with the addition of No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.
However, Chicago's dreadful offense has been the main culprit for the Bears' last two losses. Who's to blame? Sports Mockery's Erik Lambert points the finger at Chicago's offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, and it's hard to disagree.
"People have taken turns blaming Caleb Williams and the offensive line," Lambert said. "However, it is becoming clear many of the issues stem from a lack of identity and a lack of discipline."
"That falls directly at the feet of new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. First of all, against the worst run defense in the NFL, he had Williams throw it 27 times in the first half."
"Yet what made it so much worse was how Waldron handled the team's best scoring opportunity. With the ball inside the five, they ran four straight runs. ... Making it worse was that Roschon Johnson, their best short-yardage back, didn't get any of the carries."
"Shane Waldron won't last the season at this rate. There is now way the offense should look this out of sorts. ... It isn't inconceivable to think the team will make a change. This can't continue."
Based on Lambert's scathing assessment (which the Bears' performance supports), Waldron's days could be numbered in Chicago.
