The 2024 National Football League regular season, surprisingly, is almost a quarter of the way done.
Week 4 action pretty much is in the books. There still are two games to be played on Monday night, but pretty much every team has played four games, including the Chicago Bears. The Bears are 2-2 on the young season and have shown some promise.
As quarterback Caleb Williams gets more comfortable under center, more wins will start to stack up. It's certainly going to be an interesting few weeks as the trade deadline will come and pass in just over a month on Nov. 5.
Chicago could add some players but also could lose a few. FanSided's Nick Villano put together a list of one player from each team that could be traded and mentioned veteran linebacker T.J. Edwards as a trade candidate.
"The Chicago Bears are a hard team to pin down in terms of who they might trade away," Villano said. "They really need offensive line help, and they will be searching far and wide to get it. Everyone’s job is on the line this season, from the head coach and general manager all the way down to the ball boy or girl. Everyone could be fired if this doesn’t go well.
"Yet, a team has to give to get. They won’t want to risk their first-round pick, so they have to offer players. Linebacker TJ Edwards is a found asset, going from undrafted free agent to signing a $19.5 million, three-year deal with the Bears. He built on a legacy with the (Philadelphia Eagles) and brought that impact to Chicago. However, the Bears just have to use some assets to gain others, and there are players who are too important to the current run to a playoff spot to lose. Edwards would have value on the trade market."
It's too early to tell, but keep an eye on Edwards over the next month.
