The Carolina Panthers have had a rough 12+ hours.  We should preface everything by saying that everyone is okay, thankfully, but it was a frightening and nerve-wracking night.

It started with a 17-3 loss to the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in the team's opening preseason game.  The Panthers mustered a fourth-quarter field goal, but beyond that, it was not a positive night of football.

Then, the team boarded a Delta flight to get back to Charlotte. Charlotte was getting hit with a deluge of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Debby.

According to Ari Meirov, the team's Delta flight "slid off the taxiway and into the mud at Charlotte Douglas International Airport early Friday morning."

The Panthers have over a week to recover from their rough night.  The team's next preseason game is scheduled for August 17 when they host the New York Jets at 7 PM ET.
