Four years and two-plus weeks after trading for Stefon Diggs, the Buffalo Bills traded the star wide receiver to the Houston Texans for far less than they paid for him. They had sent picks in rounds one, four, six and seven to the Minnesota Vikings for Diggs and had to send fifth and sixth-round picks to the Texans to get back a second-round pick, which originally belonged to the Vikings.
It was a divorce that was inevitable, especially after Diggs had done his standard cryptic tweeting. The Texans got one of the best receivers in the game and the Bills have the ammunition to fix their receiving corps in one draft.
After the trade, Diggs took to his Instagram to say thank you to the city of Buffalo.
“I can’t begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo ♥️💙. Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I’m forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization! Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you. Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again.”
Diggs will get to play both of his former teams in 2024, facing the Bills at home in Houston while traveling to Minneapolis for the first time to take on the Minnesota Vikings.
