Buffalo Bills rookie running back Frank Gore Jr. made the most of the Buffalo Bills final preseason game today, leading the team in rushing and consistently being a positive force on the ground.
Gore Jr. finished the game with 18 carries for 101 yards, for an average of 5.6 yards per carry, with 1 touchdown and a longest run of 17 yards. He consistently displayed good vision, feet, and contact balance, and was often the focal point for the Bills offense when he was on the field.

He exited the game late into the 4th quarter after appearing to get slightly caught up/bent in a moving pile on a run. He walked off the field under his own power, and was seen initially moving and working out on the sideline, before having the training staff sit him down to take a look at what appeared to be his knee.
The Buffalo Bills running back room on the 53-man roster is going to be a hard one to crack given the presence of James Cook, Ray Davis, and Ty Johnson. But Frank Gore Jr. showed well this preseason on both zone and gap scheme runs (mainly duo) and has made a good case for being kept around on the practice squad. He’s an efficient, no nonsense type of runner who runs behind his pads and understands how to flow through alleys, use his blockers, and get north and south. His injury and roster status will one to monitor going forward
