The Buffalo Bills have established their franchise leader both on and off the field. When the two get together, it can create some interesting moments, as NFL Media discovered on Sunday when they visited the Buffalo Bills camp.
When talking to Michael Robinson, who was a mobile quarterback in his college days, he unearthed a story from Bills quarterback Josh Allen regarding his decisions to run. Allen explained that during a recent game of golf between he and General Manager Brandon Beane, he hinted that he may not run much anymore as he gets lean.
Beane immediately saw through and called his bluff, but Allen gave some interesting reasoning as to why he says one thing and does another.
“I got two guys you know? The smart guy and the reckless guy. You know Billy Joel, “The Stranger,” you know there is a stranger inside you, right? And he ain’t always wrong, he’s not always wrong, and you know thats how I sort of incorporate that into my game a little bit.”
Josh Allen is set in his ways sure, but they are successful and been the best form of running game the team has had. Playing in Buffalo means you have to have a New York state of mind regarding things. He didn’t start the fire the defense puts him in but he has no problem movin’ out before picking up meaningful yards for the Bills.
