The Buffalo Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 9-3 in the second week of the preseason, and there were several notable performances from players whose respective stocks will be on the rise as we continue to make our way toward the regular season. These are the most notable Bills standouts from Week 2.
EDGE Greg Rousseau
Holy shirts and pants, what a night for Rousseau. He bullied the Steelers’ offensive line, specifically right tackle Broderick Jones, and put together quite the stat line. He had 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss in a little over a quarter of play. He also had three hits on the quarterback. The Bills need one of their edge rushers to step up and become dominant - maybe Rousseau is the guy for the job.
This kind of Greg Rousseau would make a huge difference for the #Bills defense. A dude capable of getting you a bucket if left 1-on-1 off the edge, goes a long way for a defense trying to find top end edge pass rush production #BillsMafia #GoBills

Running back trio
Ray Davis, Frank Gore Jr, and Darrynton Evans all had respectable evenings on the ground. Davis led the pack with 58 yards rushing and 7.3 yards per attempt, while Gore added 41 yards and Evans totaled 37 yards. The latter two both averaged over five yards per carry, as well. In the battle to see who will be the two backups to James Cook, these three all made solid cases for themselves. And while Davis will likely be the No. 2 running back, Gore and Evans will continue to battle for the No. 3 spot.
LB Joe Andreessen
This guy is becoming the talk of the town in Buffalo. He earned a spot in camp after a tryout at rookie mini-camp, and he hasn’t looked back. He led the team with 12 tackles on Saturday, including two for loss, and was flying all over the field.

At minimum, the University of Buffalo product will be on the practice squad. At most, he makes the final 53-man roster. What a story he’s been.
