The Buffalo Bills will be without their top skill position player on offense in Week 6. Running back James Cook has been ruled out for the Bills' contest against the New York Jets.
Cook was limited in practice on Saturday and listed as questionable on the final injury report for the week. Even with that designation, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Cook was expected to play. However, the Bills called up running back Frank Gore Jr from the practice squad, which indicated Cook may not have as big a role as expected. Instead, he is inactive all together.
This means it will be Ray Davis, Ty Johnson, and Gore for the Bills in the backfield. Buffalo has been shorthanded at the skill positions, as wide receiver Khalil Shakir missed Week 5 against the Houston Texans. He was also listed as questionable.
