The Buffalo Bills are in an interesting position. They had their supposed Super Bowl window semi-close this offseason having moved on from some aging veterans, including the trade of Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

When you make a major franchise-altering move like this, it's good to keep your star quarterback in the loop for many reasons, especially when he is one of the best players in the National Football league.

That is exactly how the Bills handled things, as general manager Brandon Beane did tell Allen that a Diggs trade might be coming down the pipeline.

"I did alert (Josh) that there had been some inquiries and it wasn't 100% off the table," Beane said. "Josh and I have a pretty regular conversation on things and I think it's important for me to make sure if I think something could happen to make sure he's not blindsided."

It is worth noting that the pair hadn't spoken yet after the trade, which isn't as big of a deal considering Allen was aware that a trade could be coming down the pipeline. Now comes the tough part as the Bills look to retool their wide receiver room for the next few seasons.
