The Buffalo Bills have had quite a day when it comes to unfortunate injury news. All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano was lost indefinitely with a torn bicep after he missed the vast majority of 2023 with a leg injury.
Now, the Bills’ cornerback room may be dealing with an injury of their own. Kaiir Elam left the Bills’ joint practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers “about halfway through” according to Matt Parrino. He took off his pads and jersey before returning to practice, and then ended up taking his pads and jersey back off while receiving oxygen with the trainers.
Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam left practice about halfway through. He had his shoulder pads and jersey off for a few minutes but got back in uniform and returned.

He’s now back on the bench with trainers and he’s receiving oxygen. His jersey and pads are once again removed.
Elam is the team’s third cornerback behind Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford. If he is hurt enough to miss any time in the preseason, Ja’Marcus Ingram, Kyron Brown, and Te’Cory Couch will get more extensive looks against Pittsburgh. The Bills are thin in the secondary, so an injury to Elam being long-term is not ideal for their depth.
