The Buffalo Bills struggled to get anything going in the pass game in Week 5 against the Houston Texans. Josh Allen went a measly 9-of-30 while throwing to receivers who couldn't separate as Buffalo fell to Houston 23-20.
A large reason why the Bills lacked any passing game was the lack of their top receiver, Khalil Shakir, who missed Week 5 with an ankle injury. However, things are looking up for No. 10 as he looks to get back on the field.
Shakir was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report for the week and did practice on Saturday in a limited manner. However, James Cook had the same practice load and game designation but is expected to play, meaning the same could be true for Shakir.
The Bills badly need Shakir, as their offensive plan to run the passing game through Mack Hollins went exactly how most would expect that to go. Getting a reliable target back in the fold and giving Josh Allen an easy button to hit will be beneficial for the Bills.
