It didn't take long for the ref show to dominate the first NFL Sunday of the 2024 season.
The Week 1 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills featured not one, but two awful roughing the passer penalties that marred the action.
The first major faux pas occurred early in the first quarter. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was gifted an additional 15 yards on top of a scramble due to one of the most ridiculous calls you're ever going to see.
Then in the second quarter, Bills quarterback Josh Allen was sacked by Cardinals linebacker Zaven Collins. It was a clean play, but somehow Collins was hit with a puzzling roughing the passer penalty.
These two penalties were both cringe-worthy displays of rules-keeping from this crew. And it's only Week 1.
