The Buffalo Bills have several injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir missed Week 5 against the Houston Texans, and the offense felt it. On top of that, running back James Cook suffered an injury to his toe. Both practiced on Saturday and were listed as questionable. However, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Cook is good to go and expected to play. With that being said, the Bills still elevated a fan-favorite running back off the practice squad.
Frank Gore Jr will be in uniform tonight and make his NFL debut. The son of Frank Gore, who spent 2019 with the Bills, had a terrific showing in the preseason this past summer. He totaled 212 total yards and a touchdown while averaging almost six yards per touch.
While Cook is expected to be active, elevating Gore signifies he'll be on a snap count to avoid any further aggravation to the injury.
