As one of the greatest players in college football history, Tim Tebow is having a lasting impact on the next generation of quarterbacks.

The Florida Gators icon had a strong impact on incoming freshman Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola. The 5-star quarterback revealed that he wears the No. 15 jersey because of his appreciation for Tebow during media availability on August 2.

"I wore 15 in my first year of football actually [because] of Tim Tebow," Raiola revealed. "A strong Christian person, played football in Florida, and I mean I just I look up to people that have good character and [is a] good person, and he was that guy at the time."

Despite recently being snubbed on ESPN's greatest college football players of the century, Tebow is widely considered one of the all-time greats. His accolades include two national championships, two All-American selections, two SEC Offensive Player of the Year awards, and a Heisman Trophy.

Raiola is hoping to have a similar kind of impact for Nebraska. A 6-foot-3, 230-pound quarterback, he showed impressive arm strength and solid mobility during his time as a high school QB out of Buford, Georgia. He also thrived in Nebraska's spring game, completing 16 of 22 passes for 239 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

That may have been enough to help Raiola secure the starting quarterback job, but there's still a few more weeks before Matt Rhule needs to make a decision. Heinrich Haarberg and fellow freshman Daniel Kaelin will also be attempting to stand out during fall camp.

However, expect Raiola be be starting center with the Cornhuskers season kicks off against UTEP on August 31.
