When it comes to iconic atmospheres in college football, there's nothing quite like Death Valley.
ESPN had 14 of its college football writers rank the best stadiums in the sport. There were plenty of outstanding venues to choose from, but it was the LSU Tigers and their Tiger Stadium that topped the list.
"Soaking up the atmosphere on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium is pure nirvana for football fans, and it's hardly just the football game," ESPN's Chris Low wrote. "The food at all the tailgating spots is divine, and we're talking about dishes from gumbo to shrimp boils to jambalaya being stirred in giant pots by fans hydrating with cold beverages and sporting their purple-and-gold attire (and, yes, beads too)."
It's a bucket list venue for SEC football fans. Tiger Stadium can hold more than 102,000 fans, and it has been home to some incredible night games in recent years.
In total, 10 SEC schools were represented in the top-25 list. However, another SEC school isn't mentioned until the Alabama Crimson Tide and Bryant-Denny Stadium, which came in at No. 9. The Tennessee Volunteers also snuck into the top 10 with Neyland Stadium.
The rankings are pretty different from EA College Football 25's toughest places to play. The video game features Texas A&M's Kyle Field as the top-ranked place to play, with Alabama coming in at No. 2, and Tiger Stadium in third. Kyle Field was only 13th in ESPN's rankings.
Stadium rankings are subjective anyways, but lists like this always tend to stir up some heated debates.
