Something is different for the Missouri Tigers.

After a decade of mediocrity, head coach Eliah Drinkwitz helped lead Missouri to its first 11-win season since 2014 this past year. He's not letting that momentum go to waste, instead using it to produce a top recruiting class for his program.

That 2025 recruiting class secured another big name on July 10, when 4-star cornerback Charles Bass announced his commitment. The young corner comes from East St. Louis High School, the same school where Drinkwitz found former 5-star wide receiver and current college football star Luther Burden III.

Bass mentioned how Missouri's staff did a great job of making him feel like home with the program, which helps considering how close it is to where he went to high school.

“What stands out most to me about Missouri is how it feels like home,” Bass explained to On3. “It is close to home and it really feels that way. I have a great connection with the coaches. Most of the coaches know me, they talk to me a lot and even coach [Drinkwitz] communicates with me.”

It's another big win for Drinkwitz and his staff, who are building a dominant 2025 class. On3 currently has Missouri with the 13th-ranked recruiting class, which is the sixth-best in the SEC. The recruiting class is led by 5-star quarterback Matt Zollers, who is widely considered one of the top QBs in the country.

Drinkwitz took over at Missouri ahead of the 2020 season. His tenure got off to a modest start, going 17-19 over his first three seasons. But that all changed in 2023, and suddenly the Tigers are becoming a popular destination for some of the biggest high school players in the country.
